Background
Originally from Luxembourg, I moved to the UK about 15 years ago and lived in Wales and Scotland before settling in London. Meeting people from many different places and in various languages has instilled in me a permanent curiosity for how we make sense of our experiences and how we find belonging. I previously trained in contemporary dance and now bring my interest in how emotions make themselves physically felt into my practice. My queer identity is also an important part of my experience and perspective.
Qualifications and experience
My first foray into learning about therapy was at Goldsmiths University where I completed the Post-Graduate Diploma in Humanistic and Psychodynamic Counselling. There I learned foundational counselling skills and discovered some of the many approaches to therapy.
I found myself particularly drawn to humanistic approaches and therefore completed a BSc in Humanistic Counselling at the Metanoia Institute. There I trained specifically in Gestalt and Person-Centred Therapy as well as Transactional Analysis. For more information about what those are, please visit the Counselling FAQ page.
I have experience working in community counselling services that attract a wide variety of people who seek support for a range of issues. In this context, I worked with the following:
- autism and neurodiversity
- abuse
- bereavement
- relationship issues
- anxiety and depression
- suicidality
- trauma
- self-criticism and self-esteem issues
- LGBTQIA+ counselling
- cultural and racial differences
